Rikako Takahashi

Rikako Takahashi is a Japanese film director and editor whose work explores the relationship between architecture, urban environments, and the people who inhabit them. While studying in the Department of Imaging Arts and Sciences at Musashino Art University, she began her career as a video director. Following several years in North America, where she worked on television and film productions in Tokyo, New York, and Toronto, she founded houses inc. in 2020, a creative studio dedicated to developing visual narratives that connect cities, architecture, and human experience.
Her major works include the short documentary MOR - The Moment of Realization (2019), the 8K six-screen video installation Meguru-itonami (On the Circulation of Life) (2021), Home-for-All Archive (2023, 12 episodes), documenting post-disaster architectural projects led by Toyo Ito and other architects in Tohoku, and the official archival video for the Japan Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia(2025).

武蔵野美術大学映像学科在学中より映像ディレクターとして活動。2015年から北米に滞在し、TV番組制作・映画制作に携わる。2020年にhouses inc. を設立。現在は都市・建築と人々との関わりを物語として映像に収める試みを行なっている。
主な作品に、ドキュメンタリー映画『MOR - The Moment of Realizaion』(2019)、8K映像6面を使用したインスタレーション『めぐる営みについて』(2021)、伊東豊雄ら建築家による東北での活動を記録した『みんなの家 アーカイブ』(2023/全12エピソード)、第19回ヴェネチア・ビエンナーレ国際建築展 日本館記録映像(2025)など。
